FDA and Xarelto claims

Rivaroxaban is an oral anticoagulant drug sold under the trade name Xarelto. Manufactured by Bayer and the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen, Xarelto is prescribed for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFib), pulmonary embolisms (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and surgeries such as knee and hip replacements.

Unfortunately, the drug has been responsible for severe side effects and even fatalities since its approval by FDA in 2011.

What is Xarelto and what does it do?
The drug is a prescription medication used for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis, atrial fibrillation and pulmonary embolism. What made it worse than the existing anticoagulants, even though they were called more effective by the manufacturing company is its side effects that lead to gastrointestinal, cranial, and retinal hemorrhaging. Additionally, there is no known way to call off the anticoagulant effect in case of emergency. This is a potentially fatal condition as the patient no matter how timely is admitted to the hospital can actually not be saved once incessant bleeding starts. The xarelto claims speak about this faulty side of the drug and shows how they must be eligible for financial compensation of all the pain and suffering.

FDA warnings
The FDA in 2012 approved the release of Xarelto into the market for public use and soon became one of the top-selling drugs. Equally soon, there were reports which started surfacing about the deadly side effects of the drug. In less than a year of its release, more than 2,000 reports were made of which 151 caused death. The FDA released a warning in 2014 where it cited how Xarelto may cause uncontrollable hemorrhaging. This is where they announced there’s no known antidote for the drug.

Before the victims go to file for the Xarelto claims, they should speak to their doctor if:
  • there is an inherent bleeding disorder
  • suffered from hemorrhagic stroke
  • there is intestinal or stomach bleeding
  • suffers from uncontrolled high blood pressure
How do you know Xarelto is malfunctioning?
Xarelto is supposed to prevent the blood clots in the human body. But as discussed, there are no known antidotes of the medicine which can cause internal and external bleeding causing fatal conditions such as brain or lung hemorrhages. Internal bleeding is more commonly found in organs such as intestines, brain, rectum, abdomen, nose, and gums. The patients must visit the doctor in case of any of the following signs:
  • blood in the vomit
  • dark, tar-like stool
  • dark urine
  • swollen wounds with pain
  • bruising
  • diarrhea
  • constipation
  • increased menstrual bleeding
  • nausea
  • stomach ache
  • vomiting

The allegations in Xarelto claims

The Xarelto lawsuits cite how the manufacturer failed to warn the doctors and patients of the possible side effects which can cause irreversible internal bleeding. The plaintiffs of the Xarelto lawsuits blamed how the manufacturing companies failed to provide comprehensible guidance to the physicians in regard to whether a patient was qualified to take the medicine. It is an unreasonably defective and dangerous drug which the companies constantly misrepresented as a safe alternative to the similar existing medications.

Speak up
For anyone who has faced the complications from Xarelto medication should speak up about their pain and loss. It is tragic to understand how the pharmaceutical giants put their stake of profit at forefront rather than considering the devastating effect it would have on the public health. Get to the experienced attorneys to understand if the case if eligible for financial compensation.

Things You Need to know About Xarelto

Xarelto is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) which blocks the activity of specific substances that are responsible for blood clotting. Although blood clotting is a natural process that helps in healing, the clots can also be form abnormally, break away into the blood stream and obstruct the flow of blood into body organs.  Manufactured by Bayer and was released in the U.S. in 2011 by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, Xarelto was designed to prevent or treat a type of blood clot called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs, brain or heart). It is generally prescribed for patients undergoing certain types of surgeries, such as hip or knee replacement. However, there have been complications reported by the patients after taking the drug. They claimed for  xarelto legal compensation for all the pain and suffering. Initially, Xarelto was marketed as a superior anticoagulant to other existi

Severe And Mild Side Effects Of Xarelto

Xarelto is the brand name of Rivaroxaban which is manufactured by Bayer and the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, Janssen. In 2011, the FDA approved the drug to be a safe and effective alternative for those who cannot tolerate anticoagulants. But soon after its release, there were hundreds of complications associated with the rug came into the picture. The life threatening side ffects lead to fatal consequences and the victims even filed for lawsuits. Following are some of the most common  xarelto side effects  which have been reported by the victims: Hemorrhage Pulmonary embolism (PE) Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) Unusual liver function Spinal epidural hematoma Leakage from the existing wound s The main idea of Xarelto is to prevent exce

Mild and Severe Xarelto Side Effects

Rivaroxaban is a type of drug known as an anticoagulant, or as commonly known as blood thinner. It belongs to a class of drugs called anticoagulants, specifically the factor Xa inhibitors (blockers). Xarelto, which is the brand name of the drug Rivaroxaban, is commonly used for a number of conditions such as: preventing stroke who suffer from nonvalvular atrial fibrillation preventing and treating blood clots in the blood vessels (blood clots are formed in certain veins of the legs and is called deep vein thromboses (DVT) . These clots can travel up to the lungs, resulting pulmonary embolisms) preventing PE and DVT after hip or knee replacement surgery reducing the risk of main cardiac problems such as heart attack or stroke in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) or  chronic coronary artery disease (CAD) However, there have been some serious studies about xarelto side effects . Rivaroxaban helps prevent blood clots by blocking a called factor Xa. Once bloc
