Xarelto is the brand name of the drug rivaroxaban which is a progressively popular medication developed by two major pharmaceutical companies - Bayer Health Group and Johnson and Johnson. Approved by the FDA in 2011, it was a hopeful development over the existing anticoagulant drugs. Once approved, it was widely prescribed to patients suffering from the high risk of atrial fibrillation, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) , or pulmonary embolism (PE) . Although it is generally understood by virtue of its inherent character, any anticoagulant or blood thinner involves the risk of incessant bleeding, the side effects of Xarelto have been far more serious. Patients had several dangerous health effects, even death that led to xarelto legal compensation.
